Sculptra® at Tate Modern
Revitalised, internationally renowned and hugely successful, Londons Tate Modern provided a highly appropriate venue for exploring the role of Sculptra® in the latest rejuvenation techniques.
More than 100 specialists in the field met on May 16th to hear Dr Rebecca Fitzgerald (Assistant Professor at UCLA and Advanced Education Physician for doctors introducing Sculptra® to their practice) and Dr Danny Vleggaar (Head of Dermal Rejuvenation and Substitution Therapy at the Nouvelle Clinique Vert Pr in Geneva) present new clinical data on the use of Sculptra® in younger patients between 30 and 55 and the role of collagen stimulation with poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) in global facial rejuvenation.
As the pioneer of the now-standard techniques for injecting PLLA for facial sculpting, Dr Vleggaar shared his vast experience of using the product, as did aesthetic dermatologist Dr David Evans in his presentation on selecting the patients who benefit most from Sculptra® therapy; in this context, leading Harley Street plastic surgeon Angelica Kavouni also examined the importance of correct technique.
A fresh and revealing perspective on the subject was provided by the former Madame Tussauds sculptor Mark Richards, who discussed the portrayal of youthfulness in his work and the importance of light, shading and facial contours to produce natural results. After a question and answer session with the experts, this memorable meeting ended with an introduction to the new Sculptra® branding campaign, which stresses the products effectiveness as a collagen stimulator.
